Below is a link to a downloadable spreadsheet of the plants growing in the Heritage Garden at the Ohio Governor’s Residence, compiled by Hope Taft and Debra Knapke in 2020, it is based on Robert Henn’s book, Wildflowers of Ohio. Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) offers a collection of lists and checklists to download.


ODNR also produces free downloadable field guides of Ohio wildlife and native plants. You can request printed guides for use in the classroom.


The Ohio Division of Natural Areas and Preserves maintains lists of rare and endangered state listed plants for all 88 counties. These lists are produced from data in the Ohio Natural Heritage Database and are updated regularly.


Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center maintains native plant lists by state and a searchable database by species.
